📊 Understanding Metrics
WPM — (Characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. Timer starts on your first keypress
Accuracy — Correctly typed characters ÷ total attempts × 100
Score — WPM × (accuracy ÷ 100) — rewards both speed and precision
Streak — Consecutive correct characters without an error
Daily Goal — Progress toward your 30-minute daily practice target

💡 Tips for Improvement
Practice 15–30 minutes daily — consistency beats marathon sessions
Focus on accuracy before speed — aim for 95%+ accuracy first
Keep fingers on the home row (ASDF / JKL;) between keystrokes
Never look at the keyboard — trust the muscle memory you're building
Use the finger color zones to ensure correct finger assignment
Complete all 26 key lessons for comprehensive touch typing mastery

Our Mission
TypeFlow Pro is a free, intelligent typing trainer built for learners of all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner learning touch typing or an advanced user pushing past 100 WPM, our adaptive system meets you where you are.
We believe fast, accurate typing is a fundamental skill in the digital age. Our mission is to make typing practice scientifically grounded, engaging, and accessible to everyone — completely free, with no signup required.
The Adaptive Algorithm
Our system tracks your performance on each individual key across all sessions. It analyzes error rates, timing, and recovery patterns to identify your true weak spots — then generates lessons that specifically target those keys until they're mastered. As you improve, the algorithm moves on, ensuring you're always working at the edge of your ability.
The 26-Key Mastery System
TypeFlow Pro progresses through all 26 letters of the alphabet in order of frequency (starting with E, N, I, A, R...). Each key gets a 5-minute practice session. A progress ring tracks your journey through the alphabet. When you complete all 26 keys, you unlock the All-Keys Complete achievement.

10 most common questions — click any question to expand the answer.
What is TypeFlow Pro and how does it work?▼
TypeFlow Pro is a free adaptive typing tutor. Its AI-powered algorithm tracks your accuracy on all 26 letter keys individually and generates personalized lessons targeting your weakest keys. The more you practice, the smarter the system becomes — creating a customized improvement path far more efficient than generic typing drills.
Is TypeFlow Pro completely free?▼
Yes — 100% free. No registration, no subscription, no credit card. You can practice unlimited lessons, track your full progress history, and compete on the global leaderboard without paying anything or creating an account. We are funded by TypingMasterPro.com, not by ads or paywalls.
How long does it take to improve my typing speed?▼
Most users see measurable WPM improvement within 1–2 weeks of 15–20 minutes of daily practice. Going from 30 WPM to 60+ WPM typically takes 6–10 weeks. Reaching 80–100 WPM takes 3–6 months of consistent practice. The adaptive algorithm significantly accelerates improvement compared to generic typing tests by targeting exactly your weak spots.
What keyboard layouts are supported?▼
TypeFlow Pro supports QWERTY (default), Dvorak, Colemak, Workman, and AZERTY. Switch layouts instantly from the sidebar, the Settings panel (Ctrl+,), or the footer. All lessons and the keyboard visualizer update immediately to reflect your chosen layout.
Does my progress save between sessions?▼
Yes. Your WPM history (last 10 sessions), per-key accuracy statistics, best WPM score, total sessions, total characters typed, and all settings are automatically saved in your browser's localStorage. They persist across browser sessions on the same device. You can export this data as JSON from Settings, or clear it with "Reset All Progress."
How is WPM calculated?▼
WPM = (total characters correctly typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. The "5-character word" standard is the international typing benchmark used by all major speed tests. Errors reduce your Accuracy percentage and Score (WPM × accuracy) but do not subtract from the raw WPM figure. The timer starts on your first keypress — not when the lesson loads.
What is a good WPM speed?▼
Average person: 40 WPM. Good: 60–70 WPM. Professional: 75–90 WPM. Fast: 90–120 WPM. Expert/competitive: 120+ WPM. The world record is over 250 WPM. For most office and knowledge workers, 65–80 WPM with 95%+ accuracy is the sweet spot. TypeFlow Pro helps you reach and exceed these benchmarks systematically.
Can I use TypeFlow Pro on mobile?▼
TypeFlow Pro is fully functional in mobile browsers, but a physical keyboard is essential for meaningful touch typing practice — the whole point is building muscle memory for physical keys. A tablet (iPad, Android tablet) paired with a Bluetooth or USB keyboard works excellent. On a phone with a software keyboard, the experience is limited.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?▼
Tab = restart current lesson instantly. Esc = reset/clear input. Ctrl+, = open Settings drawer. Backspace = correct last character. Ctrl+Enter = generate a new lesson. Space = advance word separator. All shortcuts work when the typing area is active (click the typing area first).
How do I report a bug or request a feature?▼
Use the Contact form — select "Bug Report" or "Feature Request" from the subject dropdown and describe the issue in detail (include your browser, OS, and steps to reproduce for bugs). You can also email [email protected]. We ship updates regularly based on community feedback.
